Outside the office, Dr. Luc enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, hiking in the great outdoors, watching basketball, working out, and exploring photography and travel.

Dr. James H. Tyack, D.M.D., FAGD, MAGD

Dr. James H. Tyack is a distinguished general dentist whose career spans over four decades of clinical excellence, leadership, and service to underserved communities. A graduate of Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry (1976), Dr. Tyack entered dental school early after completing his junior year at the University of Oregon and graduated with honors. Inspired by his father—a dental technician—he was drawn to dentistry through his love of science, working with his hands, and his genuine enjoyment of connecting with people.

Dr. Tyack built and led two successful dental practices in Clatskanie and Astoria, Oregon, growing his team to 42 employees including five associate dentists. He launched school-based and mobile dental programs that provided vital care to low-income families across Columbia and Clatsop counties, and he was an early adopter of secure digital systems to bring advanced dental services to rural areas. He finds the greatest joy in creating beautiful, functional restorations and building lasting relationships with his patients.

He is a Fellow and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and has received the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award—honors that place him among the profession’s most elite. Dr. Tyack was the first dentist appointed to both the Oregon Health Services Commission and the Oregon Health Evidence Review Commission, where he chaired dental subcommittees and helped shape statewide oral health policy. He also served on the Clinical Advisory Panel for the Columbia Pacific Coordinated Care Organization, driving improvements in preventive and value-based care.

Now retired from private practice, Dr. Tyack enjoys golfing, fishing, gardening, and walking his dog. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 41 years, and together they have a son, Justin, who is 27. Known for his keen sense of humor and easygoing nature, Dr. Tyack continues to bring warmth, insight, and a passion for service to everything he does.

Dr. Garrett Masuda is a skilled and compassionate orthodontist dedicated to creating confident, healthy smiles through personalized care. Practicing at Gentle Dental Wood Village, Washington, Clackamas, and Woodstock, he brings a thoughtful and creative approach to orthodontics, viewing each smile as a unique puzzle to solve. Dr. Masuda earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of the Pacific in 2019, followed by his dental degree from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2022. He then completed his specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Oregon Health & Science University in 2024.

Dr. Masuda is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association. He finds joy in being part of his patients’ smile journeys and building lasting relationships throughout their treatment. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking, playing pickleball, and exploring Portland’s food scene. A proud Los Angeles Lakers fan, Dr. Masuda also follows Formula 1 and unwinds with a good K-drama. Kim Erickson D.M.D., M.D., Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

ABOUT ME

As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Erickson appreciates her role in providing pain relief to her patients through often complex surgical procedures.

She says “I enjoy being able to heal people through both science and art by providing definitive surgical treatments which solve complicated and sometimes painful problems.” She applies a caring, detail-oriented approach to each patient’s case, taking time to solve their dental issues effectively, and thoughtfully provides treatment options that are specifically designed around each clients needs.

After graduating from New Mexico State University, Dr. Erickson received her Dental Degree from the Oregon Health & Science University and her Medical Degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is a member of the American Association Of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the National Dental Board of Anesthesia, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Oregon Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association and the Oregon Dental Association.

Dr. Erickson says, “In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and exotic food. I enjoy swimming, surfing and snow skiing.” Dr. Erickson is also a Retired US Navy Veteran.
