The Mililani Gentle Dental is conveniently located in the Mililani Shopping Center at the northeast corner of Kipapa Drive and Kuahelani Drive. Our office is north of the Goodyear Auto Service Center.
Our 7 a.m. opening time on Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. hours on Saturday make it easier to schedule an appointment.
We accept most dental insurance coverage and offer a Gentle Dental Smile Plan and Dedicated Dental Plan so uninsured patients can receive discounted services. With a variety of payment options, our administrative staff will ensure you get the oral health care you need. Our highly experienced orthodontists create excellent outcomes by utilizing various devices to align and straighten teeth, improve eating and speaking functions, and prevent long-term trauma to the teeth and jaw.
We offer general family dentistry, including exams, cleanings, cavity fillings, and more. We educate our patients on good oral hygiene to keep their teeth and gums in excellent condition between dental visits.

Dr. Olivia Hautamaa, D.D.S.
Dr. Olivia Hautamaa is a general dentist with a passion for pediatric care and community service. Inspired by her own childhood dental experiences, Dr. Hautamaa pursued a career in dentistry to help others improve their oral health with empathy and innovation. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2024 after completing her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at the University of San Diego. During dental school, she actively contributed to leadership roles, including founding and presiding over the Students for Sustainability club and serving as treasurer for the American Academy of Public Health Dentistry.
With hands-on experience in both private practices and community health settings, Dr. Hautamaa has worked extensively as a pediatric dental assistant and is now serving patients as an associate dentist in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is certified by ADEX and has passed the INBDE. Dr. Hautamaa’s commitment to pediatric care is reflected in her clinical research on emergency dental care during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as her participation in national conferences and monthly pediatric pathology meetings. She is a proud member of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry and several other professional organizations.
Kevin Schlang, DDS is a dedicated endodontist with advanced training and a strong clinical and academic background in root canal therapy and complex endodontic care. He completed his Endodontics Residency at the UCSF School of Dentistry, following an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program with NYU Langone Medical Center in the Hawaii Region. Dr. Schlang earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he was the recipient of the Endodontics Award, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Schlang currently practices as an endodontist at Hawaii Endodontics in Honolulu. His professional experience also includes providing endodontic services with Pacific Dental Services in California and serving as an on-call endodontic provider for La ClĂnica, a federally qualified health center, where he treated underserved and at-risk populations. Earlier in his career, he practiced as a general dentist at KĹŤkua Kalihi Valley Dental Center in Honolulu, gaining broad experience in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, extractions, and root canal therapy.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Schlang has an extensive research background in endodontics, having contributed over 1,000 hours to microbiological and imaging-based research at UCLA. His work has focused on bacterial eradication in root canal systems, laser-activated irrigation techniques, and micro-CT analysis of root canal anatomy. He has presented research at international meetings and has submitted work for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Schlang is deeply committed to education and service. He founded and coordinated a preclinical endodontics tutoring program at UCLA, supporting dental students through mentorship and instruction. He is also actively involved with the Fiji Medical and Dental Foundation, participating in multiple international mission trips, assisting in oral surgery care, oral cancer screening, and leading a successful reading glasses donation program that has benefited thousands of patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Schlang is a former competitor on the UCLA Surf Team and remains passionate about community service, global health, and lifelong learning.
Born and raised in West Texas, Dr. Zant grew up with broad interests in music, science, and sports. As an adolescent, he could often be found tinkering on small engines in his garage, rebuilding motorcycles and trying to understand the mechanics of how things work. As he entered college, his mechanical interests transitioned into human sciences as he began preparing himself for a life in medicine. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in pre-professional biology, Dr. Zant chose to pursue dentistry because he states, “it’s like being a physician with a toolbelt.”
He was accepted into Baylor College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Since completing his DDS, Dr. Zant continues to be an avid learner and spends much of his time in continuing education courses, keeping up with the most modern dental technology.
Dr. Zant is proficient in digital dentistry, implant dentistry, and cosmetics. Dr. Zant loves providing same-day dentistry where he can digitally scan, design, and mill anything from crowns and fillings to veneers. He enjoys watching patient’s self-esteem develop as they get a beautiful new smile and improve their quality of life.
Outside of the office, Dr. Zant is an avid waterman and can usually be found at his favorite North Shore beaches.

When asked what attracted Dr. Lee to dentistry, she responded “I grew up watching my dad donate his services as a dental technician to patients with disability. I saw how his work can directly impact one’s quality of life and happiness. I wanted to follow his steps and support the community with my career. That’s how I was drawn to dentistry.”
After graduating from Rutgers University with a Major in Chemistry, Dr. Lee attended dental school at New York University and received her Certification in Orthodontics with a Master of Dental Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Lee says, “One day, my patient hugged me and said, “Dr. Lee thank you. I can smile in front of my family and friends now.”
Changing one’s smile can drastically improve both oral function and confidence. The joy I see in my patients energizes me to work harder and better everyday. It’s truly a gratifying career”. In her free time, she likes to play the piano and sing. She finds herself often passing the time reading self-help books. She also enjoys snowboarding and playing tennis.

Dr. Min Kyung Shin is a board-certified orthodontist committed to providing personalized, evidence-based orthodontic care for patients of all ages. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating with academic distinction. She continued her training at the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed her orthodontic residency and specialty certification in orthodontics, developing advanced expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of orthodontic conditions.
Dr. Shin is experienced in treating patients using both traditional braces and clear aligner therapy. She takes pride in creating individualized treatment plans and strives to help each patient achieve a healthy, confident smile in a comfortable and supportive environment.
Outside of the office, Dr. Shin enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, and cooking. She values maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle and feels honored to serve her community through orthodontic care.
