Dr. Daniel Borrero is an experienced dentist with more than three decades of clinical practice and a strong background in pediatric dentistry and community health. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1992. To further specialize his training, he completed a pediatric dentistry (pedodontics) residency at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2007.

Throughout his career, Dr. Borrero has been deeply committed to serving underserved and rural communities. He spent many years working within the Indian Health Service and the United States Public Health Service, providing dental care to Native American populations at facilities including Fort Defiance Indian Hospital, Tuba City Indian Hospital, and Hopi Health Care Center in Arizona. Earlier in his career, he owned and operated a private dental practice in Yauco, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Borrero has also held clinical roles in community and pediatric dental practices across New Mexico and California, including Children’s Dental Clinic of Las Cruces, Las Clinicas del Norte, Pueblo de Niños Dental, and Choice Healthcare Services. His extensive experience spans preventive, restorative, and pediatric dental care, with a strong focus on improving access to quality dental services for children and families.

Known for his dedication to patient-centered care and public health dentistry, Dr. Borrero has built a career focused on improving oral health outcomes in the communities he serves.

Dr. Katherine Sonoda, or as we like to call her, “Dr. Kat”, is a general dentist who is deeply passionate about working with children. She loves spending time with her patients, sharing stories about superheroes and princesses, while helping them learn how to keep their teeth healthy. Dr. Kat is compassionate and has a knack for helping children feel comfortable in the dental chair. She creates a positive working environment and is committed to providing the highest level of care.

Dr. Kat focuses on preventive care and educating families the importance of oral health. She received a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and is an active member of both the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She proudly serves our country as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. Outside of the office, Dr. Kat loves spending time with her husband and children exploring Portland. Her family enjoys discovering new foods, traveling, and adventuring to local events and festivals.
